At William Lawrence Camp, we believe in a well-rounded program. To this end, we offer both arts and crafts and a robust woodworking program. In both areas, we encourage the kids to exercise their creativity by giving them the tools and materials to bring their ideas to life. In arts and crafts, we offer a wide array of projects, including hemp, prints, drawing, painting. A wall in arts and crafts is also available for kids to paint on to express their creativity. In woodworking, we offer projects such as models, benches and boxes but encourage the campers to create their own ideas and bring them to life with the tools and instruction we provide.

A staple of most traditional summer camps is Arts and Crafts. Located in the expanded area in the basement of the farmhouse, arts and crafts offers a cool place on a hot day to slow down, relax, and let your artistic side loose. Offered as a class in the morning, Arts and Crafts is also open during free period in the afternoon and often comes in handy for skit nights and dinner dress ups. Painting, paper mache and hemp are just the beginning, the limits are your imagination.

From our craftsman department comes woodworking. In this program, campers learn the basics of designing, constructing, and finishing projects like CD racks, storage boxes, canoe paddles, name plates, and the like. Campers will be given step-by-step instruction for each of the projects that they choose. Offered as one of our morning classes, campers are then given the time during free-swim, to finish up their projects. Woodworking helps each camper bring their ideas to life.
