'Do the John Wall,' has climbed as high as #76 on the Hot 100.  They are currently #68 on the digital download chart and #7 on the Heatseakers Songs Chart.  It is the work of the young rappers, Troop 41, from Raleigh, NC.  The song was inspired by an off court dance by NBA basketball player and former Kentucky Wildcat, John Wall.  Wall did a dance while sitting on the sideline of a Washington Wizards game.  A video of the dance went viral on-line. 

There is no word of whether or not Troop 41 will tour beyond North Carolina this summer.  They have been able to grow from a local following to the national scene, mostly because of YouTube.  If Justin Bieber can do it, who is to say that these guys will just be a flash in the pan?  For the last seven weeks, they seem to have done pretty well.

Troop 411's 2010 single Do the John Wall reached #76 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song is inspired by the Kentucky-based John Wall Dance. The John Wall Dance is a dance performed by flexing the arms and twisting the wrist. John Wall first performed the titular dance during his introduction at Big Blue Madness in 2009. Wall says that his idea for the dance came from Kenzol's video, Do the Shizz. The John Wall Dance has subsequently integrated itself into popular culture.
