Bome Figure Views
Bome is a famous Japanese sculptor who, for many years, created popular garage kits (home-made kits or statues, often created in the garage or workshop, that are made in small, limited numbers) and then went on to work with Japanese toy manufacturer Kaiyodo. Best-known for his sexy, anime-style women, Bome is regarded as a fine artist by his many fans, and even hosted an exhibit of his works in early 2001 in Paris, France! Now, fans of sexy anime and alluring art can exhibit their favorite artistic styling with this new figure.
Imported from Japan, Oni Musume is now available as an exciting Blue Demon version of the She-Devil. Produced by Kaiyodo, creators of the hit Trigun and Neon Genesis Evangelion figure series, this sexy anime-styled figure measures approximately 7 tall (with no articulation) and features a new color scheme based on the first sold-out Monsieur Bome Collection figure. Scheduled to ship in July 2005, this is one figure that no import toy collector or anime/manga fan will want to be without.
With so many takes on the Saber character available as Japanese anime figure products, it is surprising that Bome chooses to use a back-to-basic approach with his interpretation of this fan favorite character in the release of Mon-Sieur Bome Collection Vol. 23 Saber from Fate/Stay Night 1/8 scale PVC Figure from Kaiyodo. The clue to the rationale behind this approach lies on the back of the blister package, where Bome notes that he himself bought the limited edition of the Fate/Stay Night PC game on the day of its release, thereby revealing himself to be a fan of the game and its creators, Typemoon. With this in mind, it is easy to imagine where the inspiration for his Bome Saber figure came from: the game itself. Indeed, Bome chooses to focus on Saber 's stern and serious side, as reflected in her eyebrows and her watchful gaze (pic 2).
If youo're a Saber fan with a shelf full of Saber figures, why would you buy this Bome version? The easy answer is that its's a Bome release! Bome fans appreciate his work, and this Saber release is thoughtful, and worthy of being part of the Bome Collection. The alternate answer is that this release moves away from the light, playful nature of the more recent Fate/Hollow Ataraxia Saber products, and returns to how Typemoon originally intended this character to be in the PC game: focused, serious, dedicated. For Saber fans, this is an adequate reason to purchase this product.
