Cool Pix L4 Views
Like most low-end, budget digital cameras, the Nikon Coolpix L4 is a bit light on the features. ISO sensitivity is set automatically, although white balance and exposure compensation give some degree of control. An ample assortment of 15 scene presets help make up for the meager manual controls by configuring the camera to shoot under special situations, such as inside a museum or against a backlight. While the camera has a 640x480 movie mode, it shoots at only 15fps and doesn't record sound. For a fully functional movie mode, try the L4's bigger brother, the Nikon Coolpix L3, which shoots VGA movies at 30fps with sound. The L4 doesn't have an image stabilization mode, though it does detect possibly blurry photos as you take them based on a number of camera settings, such as shutter speed, and prompts you to save or delete the questionable image.

I first had the CoolPix 4600, and it broke. When it was replaced by BestBuy, I was hoping that I would get something a little better. They replaced my old camera with the CoolPix L4, a camera with equal features. At first I thought it was better, until it started breaking every two seconds. The infamous LENS ERROR appeared, and I got my camera replaced AGAIN, with the same one. Now, I still had a CoolPix, and it broke. Again. For the same LENS ERROR . I replaced it one more time, with the same one, and this time, the liquid crystals in the screen were screwed up, not allowing me to see anything on the screen. I brought it back, and got a whole new camera. My new camera is much better, and I definetly did not choose a CoolPix. Obviously they are poorly made, and they don't even take great pictures. I would not recommend this camera. At all. =]
Let's face it, most of us want an EOS Rebel for about $150.00. Well, unless your dad owns Canon, you better take a harder look at what you can really get for this price. I believe the Nikon CoolPix L4 is the answer. For the most part, I need this camera for online sales with quality pictures, plus a camera we can take to special occasions and my wife can feel at ease about a point-and-shoot camera that is small enough to put in her purse. this camera is all that and much more. The smaller size is incredible considering the large viewing monitor which looks to take up almost half of the back of the camera.
