Billy Mays Dual Saw Views
We watched Mos Def watch tv on ustream Friday night, and channel flipping inevitably ended up on the DualSaw commercial starring Billy Mays. This was at like 5am on DeLaSoul ’s dugout on and now today we hear the Oxiclean spokeman is no longer with us. Billy Mays dead at 50. R.I.P. (lots of oxygen in heaven.)
If you have watched Pitchmen on the Discovery Channel, you'd know why they are both doing the infomercial. As far as the rescue workers using a corded tool, they took the saw to actual firefighters who used it on the roof of a house, a car, etc. and all were totally impressed by it. Zero kick, no sparks...and it's not Billy Mays and Anthony Sullivan making money off of the product; it's some Frenchman firefighter to help his parents retire and pay off his debts, which are pretty high for the 12 years he took developing and making it. So before you talk shit, how about go out and take 12 years of your life plus all of your money on something you believe in.
In response to Anonymous&' comment (April 23, 2009 12:17 AM) Mays and Sullivan do get compensated and very well might I add. Billy Mays demands a minimum of $10,000 per infomercial. I can only imagine what the egotistical Sullivan demands. They also get a percentage of total sales from the products they sell. So even though the creator of the Dual Saw will be able to pay off his and his familys debts, Mays and Sullivan will continue to purchase more Bentleys and private jets.
I saw the Omni Dual Saw 30 minute infomercial for the first time ever, on the Live Well Network today. I couldn 't believe that Billy Mays is still being used to sell products. In another 12 weeks he will have been dead 2 years! It seems in bad taste to be using someone who has been dead that long to sell products via videos, as though he were still alive.
