I have worked at JSC for 10 years now. While the gift shops on-site at JSC do have some unique items, they simply cannot beat the different kinds and amounts of souvenirs that Space Center Souvenirs has. I believe SCS also is either the same or cheaper than other places on mission patches. They have every mission patch you can think of from Mercury all the way through Orion.
